Museum and Exhibition Information

The Residenzmuseum has been open to the public as a museum since 1920 and is an important palace museum in both Germany and all of Europe. It previously functioned as the main residence and seat of government of the rulers of Munich and Bavaria. After the building was severly damaged in the 1940s, a restoration took place and by 1980 the building had been restored based on an inventory from 1835. Today it is a very unique museum to visit however unfortunately it is a highly inaccessible for disabled patrons.
